Installation

This installation is the result of a one-year quest for the notion of rest, more specifically meditation in different cultures and different times, to bring it home, to ourselves, in the here and now. It is an investigation of substance, shape, knowledge, movement, sense, ... An inquest into our fundamental essence.

Four main pillars emerge:

the movement of the body;

the object as a religious artifact or talisman;

sound (music) as connection, summoner, or purifier;

the place (shrines, buildings, ...).

Quietude is at the heart of it all: In the hustle and bustle of life, we become still. Who am I? Who are you? Along introspection, meditation and stillness we will walk, to take them into the world. Our pure core, raw and unformed, vibrating in the infinite, through time and existence.
